Delisa Iliso – “Feast your eyes” on girls’ artwork”
Welcome to Delisa Iliso Gallery! This is an exhibition space that gives visibility to the artistic productions created at the various fieldsites of Networks for Change in Canada and South Africa. Delisa Iliso means “satisfy – or feast — your eye” in isiZulu, one of the most widely spoken languages in South Africa.
Networks for Change and Well-being is a participatory and arts-based research project that lives through the activities of different girls’ groups in Canada and South Africa. Indigenous girls and young-women have been working with different participatory visual methods, such as photography, video, collage and other artistic modes in order to explore issues on sexual violence and related concerns.
